I got a message from some nice people that they needed some help with their problem puppies….they had gotten two puppies at the same time!  One of the worst things you can do is get two puppies at once because they orient too much on each other and not enough on you while you are trying to teach them how to behave.  The first thing I suggested was separating the puppies and whisking one off to puppy boot camp at my house for a week where we would learn how to go potties, how to keep from jumping up on people and eating a proper diet for good nutrition and optimum growth, very important for puppies!  I’ve requested a statement from them about their experience with my consultation and help with these problem puppies and will post it here when I get it.  The best thing about this job is that the owners understand that they also needed training and to be firm with the pups when they have learned their lessons and need to keep them up.  They are very receptive to ideas about what may or may not work since all pups are different and what works for one won’t necessarily work for another. Kudos to Spooky and Hummers parents for wanting to do what is best for their babies!  Here are some pictures of Hummer and Spooky.
